A Nara Baby alternative for sleep tracking

Nara Baby spent years as a complete, ad-free tracker. It now lists paid plans, and without a subscription the app becomes read-only. If you used Nara for bottles, diapers, and pumping, Napple is not a one-for-one switch. If sleep timing is the job, Napple is built for that: when the next nap is due, and a shared log that doesn’t split.

Napple does not replace Nara as an all-in-one baby tracker. We don’t log feeds, diapers, pumping, growth, or postpartum recovery, and we don’t import a Nara CSV yet. This page is for families who mainly used Nara to watch sleep, and want a tracker that stays usable for everyday logging without a paywall.
Nara Baby is going paid
Nara’s official FAQ now describes two plans: monthly and lifetime. In the US they list $9.99 a month or $99.99 once, with occasional promotions for some users. Confirm the price shown in your own App Store or Google Play listing.
New families get a 7-day trial with full access. The trial starts when you log the first track. Nara says you don’t need a card to start, and you won’t be charged unless you actively subscribe.
If nobody opts in, Nara documents that the whole app family becomes read-only: you can view and export existing records, but you cannot add new ones. That is the change most people are searching for.
Who Napple is for
Napple is a fair next step if most of this is true:
- You used Nara mainly for sleep timers, wake windows, or “when is the next nap?”
- You want the next sleep predicted from your baby’s logs
- Both parents are on iPhone
- You want everyday sleep logging to keep working after a preview, without the app going read-only
Stay on Nara, or pick another full tracker, if you need:
- Feeds, diapers, pumping, solids, growth, or pregnancy logs in the same place
- Android, or a mixed iPhone and Android care team
- Your months of mixed history imported before you log another day

Everyday sleep logging stays free
Napple’s first 14 days include the full app automatically. You don’t enter payment info to start. After day 14, you can keep logging sleeps, editing entries, and sharing the history with the other parent.
Napple Pro is the optional step if you want the next sleep window, Lock Screen Live Activity, reminders, and reports beyond 14 days. One subscription covers the household. The sleep log does not freeze if you skip Pro.
That is the practical difference from Nara’s new model: Nara stops new tracking without a paid plan. Napple keeps the log writable.
Keep a copy of your Nara Baby history
Even if you only move sleep tracking to Napple, export Nara first. Nara still lets you do this after the trial.
- Open Nara Baby and go to the Activity screen.
- Tap the avatar beside your child’s name.
- Choose Export Data and save the CSV somewhere durable.
Napple cannot import that file yet. Start a new sleep history in Napple, and keep the CSV as the record of everything Nara already stored, feeds and diapers included. If we add a sleep import later, that original export is what we would read.
Start a sleep log in Napple
- Download Napple from the App Store and add your baby.
- Log sleeps with one tap to start and one tap to end. Hold to backdate if you missed one.
- Create a family account and sign in on the other iPhone with the same email and password so the log stays in one place.
- Use the 14-day preview to see next-sleep predictions. After that, keep logging for free, or continue with Pro if the window on the clock is what you want.

Questions about switching
Is Napple a full Nara Baby alternative?
No. Nara is an all-in-one baby and parent tracker. Napple is a sleep tracker. If you need bottles, diapers, pumping, or pregnancy logs in the same app, stay on Nara or pick a full tracker. If the hard part is knowing when the next nap is due, and keeping both parents on the same sleep log, Napple is built for that.
Is Nara Baby going paid?
Yes. Nara’s official FAQ lists a monthly plan and a lifetime plan. The US prices they publish are $9.99 a month or $99.99 once. Families get a 7-day trial that starts with the first logged track. You don’t enter payment details to start the trial, and you are not charged unless you opt in.
What happens to my Nara Baby data if I don’t subscribe?
Nara says the app family becomes read-only. You can still view and export what you already logged, but nobody can add new tracking until someone subscribes. Export the CSV before you delete the app.
Can I import my Nara Baby data into Napple?
Not yet. Export the file from Nara and keep it. Napple does not read that CSV today, so sleep logging starts as a new history. If we add a sleep import later, you will already have the original file.
Does Napple still have a free plan?

Does Napple track feeding and diapers?

Does Napple work on Android?
Not today. Napple is an iPhone app. Nara lists both iPhone and Android. If your care team is on mixed phones and you need one shared full tracker, Napple is not the switch.
How do I export my data from Nara Baby?
On the main Activity screen, tap the avatar next to your child’s name, then tap Export Data. That saves a CSV. Nara’s FAQ says this still works after the trial if you don’t subscribe. Keep that file even if you try another app.
